- The previous release was, for almost all users, completely unusable. macOS blocked the app at the door and refused to open it. If you tried, you likely saw this:
- “VibeVoice” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

Common questions
Do I need an account to use the client?+
Yes. The client is linked to an account once, with a device code shown in the app — there is no separate licence key to keep. The free tier is 30 minutes a month and needs no card.
What does macOS ask for the first time?+
Accessibility permission, granted once in System Settings under Privacy & Security. macOS will not let any application send keystrokes to another one without it, and the client is no exception. Without it the client runs and records but no text appears.
Does it work on Wayland as well as X11?+
Yes, on both. Synthetic input is handled differently on the two, and a tool built only for X11 silently does nothing in a Wayland session. The Linux page says so explicitly for that reason.
Where does the audio go?+
To our servers in Germany, where it is transcribed and then deleted as soon as the transcript exists or the attempt fails. It is never used to train anything, and there is no offline mode — a machine with no network is a machine where this does not work.
What happens when the free minutes run out?+
The next job is refused with the figures in the message, and nothing is charged on top. The paid plans and what a minute counts as are on the pricing page.
