Refine: Your Dictation, Finished by AI
- VibeVoice 1.1 brings Refine. Dictate as usual, then let AI clean it up, translate it or turn it into a summary, to-do list or email, all with one shortcut, before it lands where you type. 1.1 also gives Settings a fresh design in light and dark, makes linking your device painless, and keeps your dictation going when the connection or our server hiccups.

- Refine: finish any dictation with AI. Press the Refine shortcut instead of Stop and pick what should happen to your words: clean them up, translate them into one of your languages, summarise them as bullets, a paragraph, to-dos, an email or one line, or run your own prompts. The result is pasted right where you were typing. Included with Ultra.
- A new look, light or dark. Pick a theme, or follow your system. Settings now save themselves as you go.
- Linking that always works. Link Device shows a short code and the address to enter it at, even if your browser does not open.
- Recording starts and stops instantly, and your first words are kept.
- Dictation survives trouble. If the connection drops or our server restarts, what you already said is kept and VibeVoice reconnects by itself.
- Shortcuts on any keyboard layout, with a clear message right away if a key cannot be used.

Common questions
Do I need an account to use the client?+
Yes. The client is linked to an account once, with a device code shown in the app — there is no separate licence key to keep. The free tier needs no card.
What does macOS ask for the first time?+
Accessibility permission, granted once in System Settings under Privacy & Security. macOS will not let any application send keystrokes to another one without it, and the client is no exception. Without it the client runs and records but no text appears.
Does it work on Wayland as well as X11?+
Yes, on both. Synthetic input is handled differently on the two, and a tool built only for X11 silently does nothing in a Wayland session. The Linux page says so explicitly for that reason.
Where does the audio go?+
To our servers in Germany, where it is transcribed and then deleted as soon as the transcript exists or the attempt fails. It is never used to train anything, and there is no offline mode — a machine with no network is a machine where this does not work.
What happens when the free minutes run out?+
The next job is refused with the figures in the message, and nothing is charged on top. The paid plans and what a minute counts as are on the pricing page.
