Say it messy.
Paste it finished.

End a dictation with one shortcut, press a digit, and it lands cleaned up, translated or summarised.

A spoken note with a self-correction becomes a finished email with greeting and sign-off, pasted into the draft.

Key 1

Your words, without the um

Clean up takes out fillers, stutters, words said twice and the half of a sentence you corrected on the spot. Your wording, your order and your tone stay exactly as you said them.

A knotted cyan wave runs into one glass key and leaves it as a smooth purple ribbon.

Key 2

Say it in one language, paste it in another

Put up to 9 languages of your own on the digits, so 2 then 1 means “into my first language”. The translation is made from the cleaned-up text, so a correction is translated once and the slip not at all.

Key 3

Talk for five minutes, paste five bullet points

Summarise as bullet points, a short paragraph, a to-do list, an email or one sentence. Questions you asked stay questions, and it writes as you, not about you.

One wave forks into three glass keys marked with a sparkle, a globe and three bars; the last ribbon comes out short.

Key 4

Your own button

Write the instruction once on the website and it appears in the popup: “as a commit message”, “as a polite reply”, “as a ticket with steps to reproduce”. Up to 20 of them; the first 6 get the digits 4 to 9.

What comes out, and what stays

The words Clean up took out of a real dictation are struck through. Everything else is still there, in the order you said it.

What you said

Okay so, um, the export is broken again. When you, when you click export on a project with more than, like, fifty files, it just spins and then after maybe a minute you get this, uh, timeout error. Small projects work fine. I think it started after Monday’s release, or maybe Tuesday’s, no, it was definitely Monday’s, because Anna reported it Monday afternoon. Also, and this is kind of separate, the progress bar jumps back to zero when you, um, switch tabs. Can someone look at the export first, that’s the one customers are hitting.

What gets pasted — 16 words out, not one added

Hands stay on the keyboard

  1. Ctrl + Shift + Alt + Qends the dictation and opens Refine
  2. 1 · 2 · 3picks the action, a second digit its option
  3. Enterpastes the result where your cursor was

Backspace goes back to try another action. Esc pastes nothing. The shortcut can be changed in the app.

about 2 seconds

from the digit to the finished text, for a dictation of a few sentences. Measured, and rounded up.

Where your text goes

  • Off until you switch it on yourself, on the website.
  • The text goes to one named processor, Groq UK Limited, which runs the model in the USA through its affiliate Groq LLC. The EU has found UK data protection adequate, and Groq’s data processing agreement requires a lawful mechanism for the onward transfer and binds its own sub-processors too.
  • It keeps nothing after answering.
  • Our logs hold the length of a request, never the text.

Read the Refine agreement

A glass capsule carries a purple ribbon along an arc through one glass key and comes out smoother; the tray beneath stays empty.

What it does not do

  • Ultra only, in the desktop app. Not in the Android keyboard yet.
  • It needs a connection: the model does not run on your machine.
  • Up to 8,000 characters in one go — a long dictation, not a book chapter.
  • A misheard name is only fixed when the sentence makes the right one obvious.
  • Each month has an allowance. When it is used up, Refine pauses until the next month; dictation goes on as before.

Common questions

Does Refine change what I said?+

Clean up removes noise and nothing else: fillers, stutters, repeated words and the part of a sentence you corrected yourself. Every statement, hedge, number and name stays, in your words. Translate and Summarise are meant to change the text, and you choose them.

Which languages does it work in?+

The ones you dictate in. Clean up answers in the language of the dictation, and you choose the languages for Translate yourself, up to 9.

Can I write my own instructions?+

Yes. On the website you write an instruction once — “turn this into a commit message” — and it appears in the Refine popup. The first 6 sit on the digits 4 to 9.

Does it work on Linux?+

Yes, on Windows, macOS and Linux, X11 and Wayland, in the desktop app. It pastes wherever your cursor was, so it works in any app that takes text.

What does it cost?+

Refine is part of Ultra (€10 a month). There is no separate charge per use: Ultra includes a monthly Refine allowance, and your Refine settings show how much of it is left.

Is my text stored?+

Not by us: our logs hold the length of a request, never the text. The processor that runs the model keeps nothing after answering. Refine is off until you switch it on yourself.

Talk, press 1, done.
